A blend of West Coast architecture and community living are the cornerstones of Langford’s new master-planned community #MyBelmont
May 24, 2019, Victoria, BC – The multi-award winning Vancouver architecture firm RLA Architects Inc., specializing in master planning, resort design, multi-family and mixed-use developments, is now bringing the same innovative methodology to Langford’s newest masterplan community #MyBelmont.
#MyBelmont Masterplan will comprise of rental and privately-owned condos across six developments, with the adjacent Belmont Market (developed by Crombie REIT) to create a 24-acre full-amenity community. RLA was commissioned to design a residential space to reflect the fluidity of the natural West Coast location while creating a real sense of permanence, community, and livability. The team drew inspiration from Belmont’s surroundings and the environment through a highly effective, collaborative, “envisioning” process between the architect, developer, marketing and sales team, landscape architect, and interior designer.
“Belmont is a modern interpretation of west coast style; the climate and environment prescribe both an opportunity to create attractive, livable spaces and plenty of open space for sunny days,” says Greg Voute, lead architect on the Belmont Residences development. “Extensive balconies and patios will maximize views and access to the forest and trail. Even down to the units themselves, we’ve ensured everything is congruous.”
RLA has applied meticulous design aspects that maximize ease and convenience for residents in their quest to engage with their surroundings. The team has included features such as underground kayak storage, a bike-washing/repair station, and a pet grooming station to cater the active lifestyles of future occupants. Residents will experience a uniquely tailored style of living by incorporating overhangs and durable materials, as well as generous balconies to create a seamless indoor/outdoor living.
